Corrugated Sequential
CORRUGATED SEQUENTIAL SYSTEMS IN PNEUMATIC CONVEYING DESIGN
With energy bills soaring higher, the Sequential System shown in the illustration and Belt Conveyor Systems offer lower horsepower solutions for the high speed cutters. We offer many solutions to the scrap produced at a sheet plant. Some are similar to the Corrugated Plants.
CORRUGATED CONVERTER SYSTEM
Traditionally, independent fan systems are used for handling the scrap being generated by each production machine in corrugated sheet plants. These machines can range from Flexos to Die Cutters. Initially, the scrap is gathered with the use of a conveyor or air pan placed underneath the machines. They are used for directing the collected scrap to one side of the machine at which point it can be captured pneumatically with the fan system and conveyed to a cyclone or separator for baling. All conveying air being used will then be directed to a filter for cleaning. This type of system, while being highly effective, also utilizes the most horsepower and energy.
FOR DECREASING THE WASTE SIZE OF THE REJECTED SHEETS SHREDDERS ARE OFTEN USED IN THE BALING AREA.
Due to the wide variety of waste product sizes, shredder manufacturers provide different width models allowing for the most efficient feed rate. Therefore, the selection of a shredder is normally based on the size of the largest reject sheet being produced. However, with the larger width models (those greater than the normal 62″ model), an increase in the fan system used for conveying purposes is increased as well. This includes the required air volume and horsepower. Some may prefer to lose feeding efficiency and feed the wider rejects “long ways” into a 62″ shredder. In any event, ASDI offers many solutions to the concerns of its customers.
A more prominent concern among customers and ASDI has been the environment to which we have responded with the introduction of “Sustainable Systems”. These boost energy savings through the reduction of horsepower and required air volumes allowing for the systems to run into the future having only a minimal effect on the environment.

BELOW ARE A FEW OF THESE ALTERNATE “SUSTAINABLE” DESIGNS:
In lieu of independent fans being used on each machine, a Sequential System can be used sharing a single fan source saving on energy without decreasing production.
Conveyor belts can be used to convey the scrap directly to the baler or used to collect scrap from several machines whereby one hood can be used for a single fan system.
Conveyor belts can be used to convey the scrap directly to a shredder handling the sheet waste as well. Once shredded a single air system would be used to convey all of the scrap to the baler.
For the highest energy savings, conveyor belts can be used in a trench and can feed a baler directly.
